followed by a young, strong, lucky and ambitious Djokovic...and last but not least many wonderful Feder memories....with out a doubt, this year has been the must exiting us open finale.

• FLOWER POWER

Calendula is a super powerful flower which i use on a daily basis in a form of cream and drinkable drops for all its healing properties. Also known as Pot Marigold this plant has been used as a folk remedy for centuries.

The use of the extracts to stimulate the activity of cells that synthesize collagen and promote wound healing as well as its astringent action are probably the strongest benefits. Useful for many types of skin inflammation, whether caused by infection or injury there are several product options out there such as creams, poultices, compresses and lotions to be used externally, or internally as tinctures and teas.

Calendula blooms from spring through fall and it is very easy to grow. The petals of its flowers are eatable and have a sightly spicy flavor making it a nice addition to fresh salads.

recently i got the chance to watch this documentary The Union: The Business Behind Getting High, its an easy find on netflix since Its theatrical run was limited to film festivals. Amongst the many good points is the comparing of cannabis persecution with the prohibition of alcohol in the US during the 1920s, the filmmaker points out how gang drug warfare and other negative aspects associated with marijuana are a result of prohibition, not the sweet jane itself... ...interesting...
there are also several interviews with growers, police officers, criminologists, economists, very interesting health myths and benefit facts from doctors, politicians and pop culture icons.

the apparition of Helena Christensen looking sharp and modeling some pretty great designs from students competing in the "2010 Shape Sensation" an annual Triumph Inspiration Award. the TIA invites students worldwide to use their artistic vision in order to produce a unique lingerie showpiece.

• MONKEY BIZNES

my favorite image out of the sort of futuristic work of Sarah Apple Baum...but its hard to decide what to like must since she incorporates found materials like crocheted blankets and transforms them into geometric landscapes and installations... i like!

this is "then it hit me" the work of exentric good lookin' Brian Shabaglian whos where abouts are unkown.. i took this pic in the bowery last time i saw him, before he went roaming the word on a helicopter...has it hit you?

• ONE LAST LOOK INSIDE 11 SPRING

last pics i took before the building got stripped to be sold as condos...i was sad to see all the graffiti go and along with it, the street art gatherings and the vibe of the block.. I miss the John Simpson's candles placed along the windows of each floor which gave it that hunted house feel and of course its Candle Building name... 11 Spring was built in 1888 as a carriage house and horse stable, it was bought in the 70's by J. Simpson who was a theatrical and eccentric set designer, he loved making funky gadgets and other wacky stuff... oh and lived there all alone.

Nublu Records released this kick ass album "Ritornano Quelli Di..." (The Return of...) last month, and its more than amazing! i can't hardly wait for Calibro to come to new york and bang it. Here is a quote and a free download from kcrw today: Milan's Calibro 35 dedicate themselves to recreating classic and obscure themes form 60's and 70's Italian film soundtracks. Their new release features a few original works and marks their U.S. debut. Today's Top Tune is "Five Dolls for an August Moon".
